If you are using the commercial Qt For Device Creation and The Qt Company's Yocto-based boot2qt embedded Linux, the steps may be a little different and you should refer to the Qt For Device Creation documentation for details on how to build and deploy it. I should note that the instructions here are for a generic Yocto system.
